My monitor has begun to dim on ocassions, the white areas going a yellowy colour. It is intermittent.
Do I have a big problem, or could it be due to fluctuations in the electricity supply as we've had one or two power cuts over the last day or so?

Thanks Steve - it's OK at the moment but I have had a fiddle about and tightened the big one with screws on it.
I shall see how it goes tomorrow and let you know.
Thanks again.

good answer steve, its unlikely that fluctuating power is the problem, as that would affect other things too, eg lights dimming, TV on the fritz etc.
How old is the monitor? is it a crt type or flatscreen LCD? the tubes do go in time on the crt's

It's a flat screen, about three years old.
The lights are always dimming here - a local problem, not just us!
It's been fine since I tightened that connection, so I'll see what happens.
Thanks Colin.

If it does it again, undo that connector and blow the dust out before tightening them.:top:
And before Stewart says Owt....
OK, let him say it :D
