Hi everyone Jan (MIffy) was rushed into hospital on Friday night with severe pain, i went with her in the ambulance and have been with her until now, but they cannot find what is causing the extreme pain. She has been put down for an MRI scan, hopefully tomorrow, but not holding my breath. I thought it would be lovely to get some hugs and get well wishes for her to read when she gets out.

Awwwww, GET WELL SOON JAN :kisscheek:

We're missing you lots. Here's a (((((((BIG HUG))))))) and lots of love :o

Please get better soon, the guess what is fizzling out... and story time just isn't the same :D without you. Ben is now gracing the pages of a magazine in his rubber vest. The crowd have gone sleep in the hairy elephants house (yes it's back!) ... so you see, we need you back ASAP

XXXXX

Thanks for letting us know Kim :top:

Have been to hospital today, at last they have found a concoction of drugs to keep the pain under control without sending her entire body into shut down, they were overdosing her on morphine until this afternoon, she looked brill today, relief is an understatement. The doctor said that it may be a slipped disc, but would know more when they do the mri scan, which maybe tomorrow depending on the back log as the scanner was broken for 3 days last week. Will let you all know the outcome of the scan when she has had it and thanks again everyone for the hugs and best wishes i know Jan will love reading them when she returns, that's of course if she isn't banned for missing her go at guess what:D

Now they have the medication under control, she is causing chaos . She is driving the nurses, cleaners, students, plate cleaner uppers, and anyone else she can get hold of mad, trying get them to let her go for a ciggy. Trouble is they won't let her at the moment as her oxygen levels are going up and down due to the medication. Still no scan. fingers crossed for tomorrow. in fact i expect to find her with her bags packed instead tomorrow, i'm sure the hospital will be chucking her out:rofl:

Eventually got results of mri scan today, its an L4. It the disc that has popped out and pressing on a nerve, there is a touch of arthritis in this particular bone as well making things worse as its narrowed something or other, sorry not very good at explaining. Anyway they are trying an injection in the spine tomorrow, i just hope this works as surgery would be the next option and i don't think she wants that. Thanks for all the lovely wishes for her, just look out when she gets back;)

It's always reassuring when they diagnose something - gives you confidence in a fix.

Do pass on my best wishes.

At least they know what the problem is - makes it much easier to fix it!

Looking forward to seeing you back Janet.

Jan is still in hospital, the injection has worked to a degree, she is walking about a little, but still gets some discomfort and still getting a lot of pain during the night. There is a chance that she may be out of hospital tomorrow, if the physio people are happy, but i think it may be a week or two before she can get about much.
