ok lady's and gentlemen Meet at ryde pier head from 10am to allow for crossing times for those coming in from portsmouth we can grab a drink while we wait.
once everyone arrives and we are ready to move we'll move down into ryde it self a walk around for a bit then head to sandown. I recommend getting a train ticket as far as shanklin as this is likely to be the return from point.

stop for lunch we could even include a pint (yes I'll find a pub stu) then look to going to the zoo (great place for shots of tigers)

when have had enough of pulling face's at the lima's and and trying to work out how to feed a small child to a tiger we will make a move back to sandown for a walk down to shanklin. i think the walk is about an hour I never timed it as a kid I was too busy in the rock pools which should be visible from about 3pm

Please can you list below if you are interested please list your name below

We could combine this with one day on the I.O.W. then do the Sunday in Portsmouth?

So if those who want to can go over Friday, stay over, do Saturday on the island, another night staying over then over to Portsmouth for the next day?

Sounds good but if you let me know places to stay in Portsmouth nr to where we plan to meet then I have something more to go on. Is everybody camping? If so can you direct me to the nearest b&b as the hostel I had in mind is a group thing. An can anyone tell me if its easy to get from the train station to the ferry for the isle of wight? Don't ask for much do I?

when you get the train get your ticket via portsmouth to ryde if your staying on the island but I think stew knows of cheaper places in portsmouth that are nearer the harbour which is great as you can get the fastcat to ryde pier head.

There is a Holiday Inn express in Gunwharf if that helps?

The Fastcat to I.O.W. is a few minutes from there. :)

Looks good Stew :top: Is it a taxi ride from the train station? ( thinking of Fri night) -

So it looks like sat I.O.W, back to Portsmouth pm and Sun in Portsmouth. I should be able to stash some stuff if its not your booze collection for a year Beejie!
What was planned for Sunday again? - it was on the other thread... and Shaun what are your plans you put your name down as coming? Slowing getting it together ;)

It is about 5 mins walking distance from Portsmouth and Southsea station.

On the Sunday it is the Armed Forces Show on Southsea Common.

There is always Gunwharf Quays, Camber Dock etc as well to visit. :top:

Right I have just checked prices for the transport we will need to use on the day.

1) Triplelink ticket from Stagecoach which is for a return Bus to Portsmouth Harbour, the Fastcat to the island and back, and the island line train (unlimited use on day of purchase). this one is only for Dizzy P and myself.

Cost £16.50

2) Fastcat from Portsmouth Harbour return £14.20

3) Island Line train Rover Ticket whicjh is for unlimited use on the day £4.60

Cindy, I suggest that you meet us in Commercial Road on the day (I'll give you directions) and buy the triplelink ticket as it will be cheaper.

I'll see about coming down on Friday evening to sort things for the next day. :top:

We had a great time, tiring as we walked miles but fun.

We did discuss a long weekend/week meet for some time in the future so we could get round to seeing the whole island.

As and when it is planned it will be posted up. :top:

The Armed Forces Show was OK too, very hot and had to buy a hat to stop my head from burning anymore.

Got some good shots of the Red Devils Parachute display and quite a few candids too.

Will post later in the week once I have had a chance to process.

It rained as we got off of the Fastcat so went for breakfast.

Sky was Hazy for most of the day but managable.

It got a lot better towards the end of the day though.

Lovely sandy beaches, plenty of beautiful girls and a few beers made for a good day. :)
