my hire lens arrived today, so ive been out with it tonight. i want one lol, really! if anyone wins the lottery, or just has some spare cash lying around, remember me, please :D :D

anyway, i need more practice with it! im not 100% happy with the results ive got, havent been able to get angles right etc. one thing i am pleased about, it will auto focus on my D60, i didnt think it would. :)

I'm at Oulton Park to photo The Classic Sports Car Championshiops. I've hired a Nikon 400mm F2.8 for the weekend. I didnt relize just how heavy the len would be (10lbs) I've been ringing around to borrow a heavier tripod. I think I will be finding a good spot and stay there.

ouch! 10lb! lol i cant imagine carrying a sack of spuds around with me all day. good luck, look forward to seeing your pictures.

changing the subject completely, the other thing ive noticed with this lens is how much more detail i get from it than with my kit lenses. its a lot sharper.

ive hired the Sigma 10-20mm for my holiday Kim. really like it and ive only used it Friday eveningl. wondering how long its going to take me to save up for one though lol.

Jeni, just checked a couple of shots 'some' are that sharp you could cut your finger on them, and the detail is unbelievable, this lens cost over £6000 you really do get what you pay for, but as you say...would not want to carry this around all day.
