Hi Cockneyclicker

Welcome to TOG.

you mention photoshop, what other software do you use if any?

For the time being if you use PS, just use the save for web, make the width 1000px, then slide qualty slider till its under 200kb, should be plenty good enough.

Save for webs not ideal, but the easiest to explain to get you started.

I think I need to record some new vids.. :)

This video might help though,, just remember the sizes are actually

1000*720 and 200kb... bigger than when this was recorded.

make your res about 100 then set your width to 1000pix max then set your hight 720pix max if the height is over 720 with a width of 1000 then set the height at 720 and leave the width as it is unless it is greater than 1000, if this is the case just drop the height size until you have 1000 wide, then when you save as set the file size using the slider to 200kb or under, this should then give you a decent size photo to view

Hi mate, and welcome, i'm new here as well.
Do you have lightroom, because you can set that up to save your images as per the requested sizes.

Hi Cockneyclicker, welcome to TOG.

Best advice is just above, IF you have Lightroom it makes it very easy.

Fill in your profile in 'user CP' then everyone can help better by knowing what you use. :top:

LR3 is fantastic but you have to use it properly, or not at all. It takes some getting used to because IT wants to do it a certain way and you have to let it. If you try to move, edit or modify pix outside of LR you will just screw up the catalog and it cannot work. You use LR to catalog and edit your pix and if you want to use PS then you export to PS and it sends the result back to LR. You have to think differently to the 'old way' or it won't work. I hated it at first (refused to use it for a while) but I can't do without it now.
