Decided to buy myself a Christmas present - a tripod suitable for a Nikon D7000 and decided on the Manfrotto 190CXPRO4, weighing only 1.34 kg. Went to Jessops as they had one of the lowest prices. Manfrotto were 'giving away' the 324RC2 head (0.43kg) so I had to wait for that to arrive, which it now has. I think it's going to be a great combination and I love the ability to adjust the head by just squeezing the trigger whilst still supporting the camera. And as bending double to use VF is getting a bit tiring, got a 'cheap' Seagull right angle VF as well. So no excuse now for any camera shake.

I use Manfrotto Tripod and monopod and they are superb bits of equipment. :top:

Another vote here for Manfrotto. I only have a 682B Monopod but it is a brill bit of kit.

I have gone for a cheaper tripod and it is sturdy, but heavy to drag around. The 300s needs something solid underneath it though.

There's gratitude for you. And I was just copying a link to some good strong cheap tripods too.... :p

Cliff, are you turning VR off when on the tripod ?

How do you find carrying this one around now you've had to chance to use it? (i hope!) :)
