also on a serious note, read their terms and conditions, there insurance excess is (from memory) £2000, altho they do offer a waiver for an additional fee. This means of course if you damage the lens and dont have the waiver, then you will be coughing up for the full cost :confuse:

You'll have great fun with one of these Jeni.

Remember to fill your foreground with something and also take a head and shoulders pic of the Hubby up close.:legal:

Is there an excess on the insurance?

Yes. You will have to meet the first £150 of any claim.

I just hired the 70-200 L f2.8:D it arrived the day before i wanted it

well ive hired it from Monday 15th June for 7 days. it will be with me Friday 12th June before 17:30 and i need to post it back to them no later than Monday 22nd June. means i can get some practice in with it, and some critique off you lot before i take it on holiday :D

they dont have a 77mm polarizer though :( which i also wanted to hire. anyone got a spare they can lend me :) *smiles sweetly*

I have a CPL for mine and to be honest I very rarely use it as the lens does a good job of darkening skies anyway because of its Angle of View. :)

best way to darken the sky with this lens i found is to get the sun behind you and tilt the lens up or down but im sure you'll find out when you start to play

when i borrowed my friends wide angle lens for the ferrari shots last year i didnt have a polarizer, and i did get quite dark skies on a few pictures. Calumet manchester lent me a polarizer free of charge for the few hours i needed it :top:

I'd see how you like the lens first then invest in the CPL if you buy one.

Be cheeky and ask the hirers if they'll add one for free, tell them you will sing their praises on the forums and Facebook. :top:
