Just curious how many people received the email ok and how well it displayed.
In theory it should have looked like a normal webpage here on tog.

I know several people that search google for 'hotmail' to be able to read their mail, so just wondered what the numbers were like.

Thanks Nigel and Jan for getting it sent out :top:

thanks for the replies.

I think the horizontal scroll bars is just because of Kims great picture, didnt want to make it any smaller.

Future months will have smaller pics probably. Seems like most read it ok though.

The hilarious & very clever "group photo" was nothing to do with Nigel or myself --it was all down to Kim!!!!! :clap: !!!!!!:top: So if anyone is considering seeing their solicitor with regard to any "slander or defamation of character" :D, the name you need to hand to your legal team is KIM--aka-- KOOKY !!!
Nigel & myself wish to deny any knowledge or collaberation WHATSOEVER, -- & the fact that we work on the same publication is not relevant in a court of law!!!!:rofl::rofl::rofl:

I could see it using IE (dont know which one) and also google mail but it was rather large and had to reduce it to 75% to be able to read it. I also had scroll bars at the bottom.

Very funny though! Please can we have the same next month..... (but different!):rofl:

17-01-2011, 05:22 PM
Well i'm glad you've all received it---just one small thing---!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

DID ANYONE ACTUALLY LIKE IT?????????? DID YOU LAUGH AT YOUR CARTOON ON THE PICTURE???????? TITTER AT THE LIKENESS OF OTHER TOGGERS CARTOONS??????????

That cartoon took DAYS to compile,(this one was the 19th draft!!) & a lot of attention was put into giving individual toggers their own characteristics---eg--seals--owls--old buildings--weddings--etc--trying to make all of you feel special & noticed !!

But apparently, not ONE of you HAS noticed !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Were you all offended by it????? Did you find it too flippant????? Too silly???? Too unprofessional???? Too WHAT ???????????????

It was a little light-hearted attempt to include everyone on the site--to encourage you all to feel a welcome part of a friendly group. But if it has upset seemingly everyone--then you must say, to prevent any more misunderstandings !

With the exception of Fidget, who is humming along happily--& Rob, who expressed a wish for more of the same, it has impressed you all with the same excitement as would the proverbial damp squib !!!

As far as my daft song goes--fair enough--I know i have a silly, (infantile even ??) sense of humour, & that i am an acquired taste !! But a lot of work went on behind the scenes by mods & admin, to bring you the first newsletter ! OK, i'll be the first to admit that it's not going to knock "Amateur Photographer" off the shelves of Smiths---but come on guys!!!!!!!

A bit of a :clap::top::):kisscheek::hugs:-----even maybe a :party: wouldn't hurt!!!!!

I'm afraid it's one of those daft human characteristics that people are quick to complain. So silence usually signifies approval.
I certainly enjoyed it and can appreciate that a lot of work went into it. You weren't to know that my 'biking' involves pushing the pedals round, not opening the throttle. Fidget and I are still singing along.......must stop before the neighbours hear!

miffy
17-01-2011, 07:15 PM
Careful, Harold, wouldn't want to raise your blood pressure!!!!!!!:rolleyes:

I didn't want a mention---the rubbish I write doesn't take long!!!! :D But i would have thought you toggers & modgers would have appreciated the trouble finding all those little pics & fitting them all in must have taken!!
I'm already in big trouble with Kim for mentioning this at all---it's gonna take a lot of home made fruit cake to get me out of THIS one!!!!:o But you know me, I jump in feet first to ensure fair play!!!!!!
Apart from that, we were just worried that the apathy shown was a clear sign what everyone expected--& that if it wasn't a bit of fun that was needed---then I at least, will have to resign from my high-powered, new UNSALARIED (that means, free--gratis--cheap--without remuneration--so what do you expect, Piers Morgan??????????:rofl:), position !!

But thank you Harold, it's a very welcome start!!!! And before i'm called in to the Bossman's office, & escorted from the premises by security guards,without a chance to clear my desk of the rough draft of NEXT month's exciting issue !!!!!!!!---i'm going to award you a prize for being the 1st respondent--- dunno what yet--but i'll think of something later!!!!:D---Do you like fruit cake?????????;)

I am sure that I speak on behalf of all TOG247 members when I tell you that your newsletter was well received by the membership at large, and that wheels are already in motion to change the UNSALARIED aspect of your appointment as Editor-in-Charge.

Negotiations have become quite protracted as an apportionment of the salary has to be made between your good self, Kim, and Nigel. The Consultative Committee are currently dealing with this thorny and delicate issue, the stumbling block seeming to be whether to divide the salary three ways, or to divide it 50%, 40%, and 10%. At this moment in time these figures are only for illustrative purposes, but I am sure that you can understand the dilemma with which the Consultative Committee is grappling.

An appeal will be made in due course for funds to meet this expenditure but in these harsh days of austerity you will appreciate that the Consultative Committee does not feel able to impose a substantial levy. We are all in this together!

In the meantime members are being asked to show their appreciation with Rep points and gifts from the TOG shop, as these will be more valuable than any measly salary that the Consultative Committee are likely to offer.

Many thanks and we look forward to the next edition!

:rofl::rofl::rofl: Thank you, Ron!!!!!!!

Are you in charge of writing out the minutes of your local parish council meetings, Ron ?????????????:D

We do fully understand the difficulties in apportioning the blame--whoops sorry--apportioning the remuneration ;), and therefore we are prepared to forego the said remuneration in the interests of the literary world, & the 3 members of this elite squad are willing to accept your very generous offer of A REP POINT !!!!!!!!!! :rolleyes: Although not quite as valuable as Nectar points, ( Available by spending £800 in your local sainsbury's, folks!!!:top:), a price cannot be put on the prestige of a Tog Rep Point!!!!! Did Shakespeare get one??? Dickens??? Keats???? Enid Blyton???? The answer is, of course, NO !!!!!!!!

So we'd just like to thank our agent ( thanks Ron :top:), our management team ( thanks Ben & Stef :top: ) & our myriad of fans ( thanks Fidget, Rob & Harold :top: ) !!!
