on a dragonfly mission

Its super weather so been making the most of it
yesterday I thought I would go and see if I could get me a dragonfly as the weather was jut perfect for them sun and heat
down to the local canal looking in the most unusual places a few passed by landed and as soon as I approached them away they went :headbanger:
after 3 hrs in hot sun I was about to give up when a few came by and landed near me
I crept up adjusted the tripod
tried to take a shot camera was on the wrong setting lens cap was still on :confuse:
but after much panicking with the old heart beating faster & faster I got lucky
posted my 3 today :D
wondering if you go out to capture anything special or do you chance pot luck
