Not much of a tent LOL, it's a 2 man dome tent, just enough room for us & the dog :D
We'll have to look into some sites. Are we decided on Grange over sands then? Shall i camp site hunt there?

Sylvia wasn't too keen on camping but I think I talked her into it. Especially as we know the hotel owners. They were our next-door neighbours and owned a hotel here in Cov. Did you book the hotel John or do you want us to do that?? Let us know if the campsite has vacancies for the 2 nights Stef?

Our hotel is booked and deposit is paid, if anyone wants to use the room please use it.
We gutted, everything is packed and ready :headbanger: oh and they still have not got to the bottom of why it feels like I am wearing sandpaper with the sand inside, had a blood test today to see if my liver is causing it??? I have no idea how!
It will probably stop being rainy for you guys now we not coming

Marvin
29-07-2009, 01:54 PM
It is getting wetter & wetter. Even if it suddenly stopped now it would be very damp this weekend. It might well be a good idea to postpone it for a couple of weeks???:(
John, tell the hotel quick and get a refund. Or change the date...
benjiblanco
29-07-2009, 01:57 PM
i think the amount of rain today would mean not only a wet weekend, but a very muddy one too. if we can postpone without upsetting anyone or any financial issues, think it would be wise.
theres mad and theres just plain stupid! :D

For us it would have to be more than 2 weeks later, we are off to Devon in a fortnight.
August bank holiday sound better for anyone??
Hicarrumba
29-07-2009, 06:47 PM
Could well be hard pushed for BH though for camping and hotelering,
august bank holiday will be really busy too. my main problem now will be whether Cliff is back in work or not. he has an MRI scan in 2 weeks so will know more after he has the results of that through.

Marvin
08-08-2009, 10:54 AM
Weekend is fully booked and can't find one that isn't now. Stef mentioned midweek but can't make the Wednesday! Cartmel has space midweek. I have now booked that week off work so I am going to look for anywhere that has space, lake district or not.
we looked at Eurocamp, we dont have any camping gear! anyway, they provide a tent and all the stuff you need, you just have to take sleeping bags. its £155 for the bank holiday weekend at Great Langdale in the Lake District.
http://www.eurocamp.co.uk/
if you fancy driving round the Peaks i have room in my back garden lol.

10-08-2009, 06:34 PM

I said that week but was meaning for the weekend Nigel. If it's in the week i'd always struggle for Connor to be somewhere. Also, Ben's appt didn't come thru til late last wk so we didn't know about it
Marvin
10-08-2009, 09:16 PM
Ah - that weekend is the BH & Cartmel are fully booked. I can't find any around there that have vacancies that weekend. Looking around Snowdonia and seem to have one, just that the reply came from a name I didn't recognise:rolleyes: Still waiting again... That area any good??
Marvin
12-08-2009, 09:01 AM
Not Cartmel anymore but Carmel, near Llanrwst. Dates now booked, nights of 26, 27, 28, 29. Anyone want to join us for the 4/5 days or just a day or 2 ? Need to book quick, they are filling up for the BH weekend. Midweek is pretty empty.
Site is HERE (http://www.maesybryncampsite.co.uk/)

Marvin
12-08-2009, 09:21 PM
Sorry John (& Ange) was really looking forward to meeting up again. We WILL do a Lake district T2G, perhaps out of the busy season? Perhaps ask Charles and Jo if they will do a group discount for a party of us out of season? Would anyone else be interested??
Hicarrumba
12-08-2009, 09:27 PM
Yes and if we cant get there there is a place we going at Shap which is sort of middle of everywhere, 10 miles to ullswater 10 to Kendal and 12 to windermere its quite cheap now, the reviews are not great but are all by families saying there is nothing for the kids to do. but it has a bar and is breakfast included. So if Chris and Jo can't maybe we can get to this place.
Marvin
23-08-2009, 08:41 PM
OK so after a bit of a mishap with a cheque that didn't get there, we are again booked in to the campsite. BUT it is now full for the BH W/end. If anyone else wants to join us and can find anywhere to stay near Llanrwst/Betws-Y-Coed then put your name in here...............
No you fool, not on the dotted line, in a new post! :D

One of the places we intend to visit is the National Trust Bodnant Garden as featured on BBC2 today LINKY TO Iplayer (http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00kn777/Garden_in_Snowdonia_Bodnant_Rising/) - does anyone want to join us or shall Sylvia and I go before the rest arrive??
It is 7.5 miles from the campsite and has nice water features too. :top:
ill watch the iPlayer link after midnight when its free lol!
we have national trust membership, so its not going to cost us anything, looks good but im wondering how well received the kids (Josh) will be lol. Cliff says he will be quite happy in the cafe after he read about the steep slopes and lots of steps.
Marvin
