Hi All
Sorry if this isn't the right place for this question (am sure I will be moved to the right home if not :))!
I have recently invested in a 5D Mark II and I was wondering how weatherproof this camera really is!
I would really love to do a shot of a person in the pouring rain - but I have to say I am terrified of getting the beast (or affectionately known as my baby) even the tiniest bit wet!
Obviously I would try to keep it as dry as possible (any suggestions on ways for this welcome!) but I wondered how much H2O it can take!
TIA
BB :)

No doubt there are items that you can buy to cover your camera, even under water things, but dependent upon your location, then you shoot from under a shop awning while your subject gets wet through!
have a friend hold a brolly while you shoot :)

its meant to be able to keep the elements out etc, but if it were me and was raining hard, id get creative with a polly bag and a few elastic bands:top:

I've scoured the manual to the 5D mk11 BB & can't even find any mention of it :confuse: a bit strange
Maybe look at something like this (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Matin-RainCape-WaterProof-Digital-SLR-Camera-Rain-Cover_W0QQitemZ350202659323QQcmdZViewItem) or this (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Pro-Waterproof--Insulated-Rain-Cover-Digital-SLR-Camera_W0QQitemZ200343610904QQcmdZViewItem)

Thanks all :)
Stef, thanks for the links - can't access them at work will look later :)
Shaun, they are 'L' series lenses so I think these are ok re weatherproofing?
Just got to wait for the right rain now - lol!!

Ermm nope not all L series lenses or weather sealed.. some do become weather sealed with a filter attached though I believe.

Yeah, you would be best to cover it up if you can, rather than unnecessarily getting the kit wet.
But you should get some good shots in the rain:)
