.... canon 10-22?
I was just wondering what your thoughts would be on which one of these two lenses would be the best to buy?
Do I go for the more reasonable in price or go for the more expensive in price, is there any difference?
Any info would be much appreciated.
Thanks all x

Hi Lucy,
Im currently using the sigma on my 400d and I love it but saying that the colours that the canon produce are a little more vivid from the test shots i've seen. If your budget will stretch to the canon I would do it in fact i might even do it later in the year my self

Dont rule out the Tokina :D
I have the sigma (on nikon) and its great, seems well built and my copy seems pretty sharp.
The Tokina is about middle ground money wise, and gets extremely good reviews, (better than the sigma). It is also fixed at f2.8 too.
i too have the Sigma on Nikon and love it. i also used a Tokina 11-16 last year which was good too. the Sigma wins for me though as it will autofocus on my D60 whereas the Tokina wouldnt. from what i remember the Tokina is hard to get hold of, which has to say something good about the quality of it.

I have a Sigma 10-20 on my Canon. Simply love it and quality just fine for me.
I can't comment on the competition - the Sigma was dear enough anyway!

Another vote for the Sigma, I have had it for about 3 years and don't feel any urge to upgrade

As Ben points out, don't rule out the Tokina 11-16mm.
A few people I know have the Tokina and reckon it's the bees knees, and certainly has the edge on the Sigma.
I know where my money is going when I can finally afford a ultra wide angle lens :confuse:

Enjoy your new purchases Lucy - sure that you will.:top:
I have a macro lens which is the Tamron 90 1:1 which is very good and brings me lots of pleasure. I don't know the current cost compared to the Canon but worth a look at.

A macro lens a bit longer than 60mm would be easier to use, it would giveyou more distance from the subject, this makes it easier to illuminate and lessens the chance of disturbing the subject if its alive.
Whatever you get I'm sure you will enjoy it, macro is a whole new world!

The Sigma 10-20mm is a very good lens for the money and it has served me well. :top:
