just been reading the delivery rates for http://www.dscolourlabs.co.uk/. at the very end of all the information is this:

Unfortunately we cannot be held responsible for delays and lost orders by the Royal Mail. If however after 15 days of your order being dispatched and has not been received we will reprint your order at a reduced cost agreed by dscl and yourselves. This doesn`t apply during Postal Strikes.

now i know from selling stuff on ebay that anything you post with Royal Mail is automatically insured up to a value of £36 i think if you get proof of posting.

to have to negotiate a reduced rate to reprint because something they posted has not arrived seems completely unfair, you have already paid for it and it should be up to them to chase it up and claim on whatever insurance they can. maybe they should be looking at someone other than Royal Mail if they cant queue in the post office to get proof of posting.

Mmmm.. If you have paid for delivery and they (remember that Royal Mail is THEIR agent) have not delivered then they can be held responsible - failure to complete their side of the contract.

They have possibly been conned by people trying to get a second lot for free by saying they never arrived, and are trying to do something about it.

i definitely wouldn't pay anything Jeni, I agree with Ron's post above. A very cheeky way to deal with this i think! Keep us posted on the response you get

ive not had a problem with them, i was just reading their delivery rates page and spotted this.

i normally go and collect at the store, it probably costs a similar amount in petrol as delivery and i am guaranteed to get my pictures on time. the other reason is because i usually leave it til the last minute to order and orders placed before 11am can be collected after 5pm the same day lol.

it could be like Ron says though, they have had scammers in the past and want to avoid them. maybe their 'reduced rate' is free, i dunno. even so though, if someone gets in touch to say they have no received their prints, they should have some insurance on the postage so it doesnt actually cost them any extra to reprint. they then wouldnt need to have that on the website.
