external hard drives

Hi guys, sorry if this appears to be a daft question, but if i purchased an external hard drive, does it need to be plugged in all the time or could i switch off the power supply etc when not in use and could i transfer the unit between different computers etc is it simply plug in and play so to speak. again sorry if there daft questions but i dont know chhers

You can turn it off when you aren't using it Bryan, and can use it on other computers.

Look around for the right ones Bryan and you don't need any extra power supply, they can run off the USB power. Both mine do this.. :top:

My two EHDs come on automatically when the computer is turned on and go off with it too. :top:
